The paint legend Annie Sloan CBE has announced the launch of five new Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colours to celebrate 35 years since she invented her revolutionary furniture paint.
The new shades to join her collection this year nod firmly towards the paint trends for 2025. They’re bold, a little bit audacious and playful in equal measure.
“The collection includes two colours I have wanted to bring out in Chalk Paint for a long time – dramatic reddish-purple Tyrian Plum and Canvas, my perfect warm neutral – together with three new shades inspired by my travels and art history: barely-there blush-toned Rococo White, soft muted Jaipur Pink and bold and bright Sandalwood Red”, shared Annie.
These colours each share a beautifully warm undertone that makes them perfect for both your super sunny south facing rooms, and cold north facing spaces too.
Meet The Five New Chalk Paint Colours
Painting an old piece of furniture is one of the best ways to give it a new lease of life, whilst the result is immediate. If you’re looking for an on-trend, warm colour for your next project, find your match with one of her new colours.
This new collection features two long-awaited additions to the Chalk Paint range, the rich, dramatic Tyrian Plum and the effortlessly versatile Canvas, a warm neutral perfect for any space. They’re joined by three fresh shades inspired by global travels and art history, delicate Rococo White with its soft blush tones, the gentle warmth of Jaipur Pink, and the striking vibrancy of Sandalwood Red.
“These five colours work beautifully together because they all have warm undertones. I have always been obsessed with pinks from around the world – from the bold colours of Mexico to the dusty tones of India through the soft pretty pastels of Scandinavia. Use the brights in this collection to add an eye-catching pop of colour or use the neutrals for a sophisticated elegant look.” Annie Sloan.
Tyrian Plum
These deep plum shades have been filtering into our interiors even more this year, a rich and more decadent alternative to an indulgent brown.
Tyrian Plum is described as an earthy dark reddish-purple colour with real warmth and depth. Position it as an accent colour on a piece of furniture in an earthy inspired scheme.
Canvas
This is one of my favourites from the new collection, an elevated modern neutral that’s warm and versatile for pretty much any space.
Canvas is a putty-tinted beige, named after the colour you will find on a painter’s canvas.
The walls below are painted in Annie Sloan Graphite, creating a beautiful balance between the two shades.
Jaipur Pink
Delicate with a touch of playfulness, pink deserves to be seen in an interior, and it surprisingly pairs well with most colours, but if in doubt, add a pop of green.
Annie describes Jaipur Pink as a dusty earthy pink with a softness to it. It has the look of traditional plaster – slightly dirty and muted with a timeless olde-world quality.
Pinks are perfect antidotes to cooler spaces, bringing warmth and counteracting the coldness associated with any blue light the room receives.
Rococo White
If you’re a fan of using white in an interior but something just a touch warmer that’s sympathetic and not clinical by any stretch, Rococo White acts as the perfect bridge.
Rococo White is the softest white with a touch of Antoinette to give it just a hint of pink. It a pretty neutral white that’s delicate and pretty.
Pair with the likes of Jaipur Pink to really bring out the soft tones of pink within this white.
Sandalwood Red
It’s all about that ‘unexpected red theory’ and this audacious red is one of the best ways to bring that warm accent of red into a room to pull the scheme together.
“Sandalwood Red is a bright, lively colour that sits somewhere between pink and red. It’s a strong dramatic shade of coral which has a 1950s Palm Beach look. Think vibrant patterns, tropical vibes and off-beat happy bright sherbet colours”, said Annie.
Tone it done with a versatile neutral such as Canvas, or let it meet its match with a dramatic shade such as Graphite for a fun, yet sophisticated look.
Don’t let the thought of painting and prep put you off, Annie’s revolutionary Chalk paint is a no-prep furniture paint deigned for easy use, with a quick drying time. It works on wood, metal, laminate, concrete, indoors, outdoors and beyond.
