From an interior designers perspective I have always personally found hallway radiator covers ugly. There I said it.

However, there is both a function and a cost benefit of having them. Firstly, some radiators are just plain ugly, yet replacing for a cast iron or super contemporary radiator carries a three figure price tag with it, per radiator. It gets expensive very quickly.

Often, if you already have a dark narrow hallway, a radiator takes up space and stops you from having even a slim console table in a hallway. But, a radiator cover is a perfect way of killing two birds with one stone, hiding the ugly, and delivering a shelf on top to style.

There are so many more options than just white these days to really make a design aspect out of it. So, I promise, these hallway radiator covers that don’t look ugly will become a focal piece in your hallway that will become an integral part of your interior design scheme…

12. Cut Out Console Table

There are other alternatives to traditional radiator covers. Using an existing console table and cutting it down to size is a clever way to make use of the area, whilst making the radiator blend in with the space.

By painting the radiator in the same colour of the console table, it creates a barely there look.

13. Go For A Warm Accent Colour

Don’t feel like you have to shy away from colour because it’s something you’re covering up. Paint the radiator cover is a warm, accent colour to create a welcome approach as you enter the hallway.

It doubles up as a little display area so use something playful and colourful that you love.

14. Shelf With Hairpin Legs

Like the half console table, these tables with hairpin legs are another way to add a display area to a hallway without scrimping on space. This is a much more realistic solution in very narrow hallways as radiator covers can eat into a lot of space.

15. Console table Esque

I’m not totally against radiator covers, and the right style can really elevate a hallway whilst being a much more affordable choice than replacing an entire radiator.

Where space is a premium in narrow hallways always make sure you opt for covers which don’t protrude much more than the radiator, keeping a good flow in a narrow hallway is key to making it feel slightly bigger than it is.

Which of these hallway radiator covers is your favourite?
