White Dove is one of the most popular white shades from Benjamin Moore, this clean and classic white is a shade away from a bright white with a dash of a yellow undertone for a warm demeanour. This makes it a perfect solution for cold, north aspect rooms and beyond.
It’s a classic approach for any room in an interior where you want to create a timeless but also light and welcoming embrace.
Pairing it with the right colours is key to making this part of an exciting and classic interior design scheme. Prepare to be inspired with it in these real homes below…
Real Homes That Prove Benjamin Moore White Dove Is a Classic Colour
1.An Elevated Combo
Choosing the right kind of woodwork/accent colour is key to creating an elevated, stylish interior.
There are a few ways you can choose a skirting colour vs the walls, but as White Dove is a soft white, I always recommend going for something at least two shades darker so you can a gorgeous definition and depth of colour.
The below entryway space is a perfect example, they have used White Dove on the walls with F&B Elephants Breath on the closet doors and Simply White on the trim for more of a pristine contrast.
2. Minimal Colour Drench
Colour drenching is hugely popular in interiors right now, it’s ideal for larger rooms where you want to create a more intimate setting and it’s something I would really recommend when working with an off-white such as White Dove.
It creates a cosy, inviting and super stylish space that’s minimal and easy to achieve.
3. Coastal Inspired Feel
The laidback nature of White Dove makes it an ideal foundational colour for a coastal inspired decor scheme.
Blues, other whites, reds and greens look gorgeous with this shade as it’s so versatile. Layering with colour is the best way to create a tactile, gorgeous scheme.
4. Perfect Warm Neutral
White Dove really is the most perfect warm neutral that will add subtle warmth and a welcoming feel to any room.
In the bathroom below, they’ve used White Dove on the vanity with Sherwin Williams Extra White on the walls, the slight colour differentiation creates a subtle, yet understated overall look in the bathroom.
5. Create A Beautiful Flow
If you have a large entryway or open plan space, White Dove is the ideal light shade that will pull you through the space, creating a gorgeous flow.
The addition of the shiplap ceiling and faux wooden beams adds beautiful definition here, white is far from boring with the right added elements and definition.
6. Cosy, Scandi Feel
I love the versatility of this white as it can be used as a grounding colour in pretty much any design trend you love.
It lends itself to the relaxed nature of Scandinavian design, it’s slightly muted shade creates a warm yet uncluttered base to build on.
7. Cottagecore Inspired
This cottagecore inspired kitchen feels cosy, lived in and fresh and inviting with White Dove on the walls. The cabinets are painted in Hampshire Gray with the floors in Edgecomb Gray. This is a perfect example of pairing with colours that are a couple shades darker for stylish definition.
The black accents really help to pull the finished look together.
8. Traditional Feel
This bright and breezy white fits in with traditional interior schemes too and looks great in period properties.
The traditional wainscoting panelling helps to add further definition and character to this all white approach.
9. Kitchen Cabinetry
If you like the idea of a bright and breezy kitchen which borders on coastal design, the below kitchen uses White Dove on the cabinetry for a really elevated, subtle feel.
A bright white has been used across the ceiling and walls so you can really see the colour differntation at work here.
10. Relaxed, Stylish Look
Coastal design centres around using a clean and neutral base and this looks gorgeous in the bedroom design below.
Blues, reds, greens, whites and gold accents are perfect colours to pair with White Dove to create a similar feel.
11. Ground With Grey
If you’re opting for half wall panelling, it’s always best to position a slightly darker colour on the lower half with your white on the upper part of the wals.
A light to mid range grey has been used in the entryway below for subtle definition, the black and the bannister rail further grounds the space for a really classic, timeless look.
12. A Timeless Look
This might just be one of the most trending colour combinations yet! With White Dove on the walls and Revere Pewter on the doors, this is one look that has got longevity to it.
It’s super stylish yet relaxed and the black accents from the door hardware and light fixture ties the entire space together beautifully.
13. Add Definition With Black
It’s those black details again! For a touch of modernity and to ground an all white scheme, there’s no better way to do it than with black.
You only need to use it in a few small accents to benefit from this, think light fixtures, door hardware and accents on decor accessories.
14. Introduce Natural Elements
Earthy design is rising throughout interiors, and this white positions itself perfectly with it. It’s the ideal base to bring in natural warmth from natural elements such as wood, rattan, seagrass, marble and stone.
15. Use Brass As A Warm Accent
Another example of White Dove being used on kitchen cabinets and how gorgeous does it look!
For added interest, they have painted the kitchen island in paint colour Distance from Sherwin Williams. It creates a high impact look against the white, and totally transforms the space.
16. Tactile Elements
Introducing tactile elements into an all white scheme will help to create that cosy, lived in feel.
Layering with texture and colour is an easy way to achieve this. Use large area rugs for a tactile feel under feet, use different cushion covers with added texture, and colour and layer with natural elements such as rattan baskets and large table lamps.
17. Brighten A Bathroom
If you have a particularly dark or north aspect bathroom, White Dove will lift and elevate it to create a soothing, soft sanctuary.
Take inspiration from the below space! I adore the introduction of the natural wood vanities here and floor rug for natural warmth that works beautifukly against the white.
18. Draw The Eye Up
Use White Dove up and over the ceiling for a fresh look that naturally draws the eye up. Using a white with a warmer undetone like this will help to bounce light around the room for a fresher look, whilst giving the illusion of a bigger space.
19. Tongue and Groove Panelling
To avoid white feeling flat in your space, introduce some tongue and groove panelling in a horizontal or vertical layout. It adds instant character and is perfect for so many design schemes. It will completely transform otherwise flat and bland walls.
