What Is Barkitecture?

I’m calling it that ‘Barkitecture’ will be the new buzz word in 2022 – get ready to un-leash your home. Pampered pooches and feline friends are the heart of most families, no one seems to bat an eyelid if they’re better dressed, better groomed and more cared for than the owner is. Anything for our furry friends! But, just simply pampering our pooches and treating them isn’t enough anymore, so…

What Is Barkitecture?

Barkitecture is animal first, architecture. People will redesign their homes, or build their new homes based on the needs and wants of their pets. Their furry friends will be at the forefront of every design choice, from luxury dog rooms to catified homes. It’s about building your home for the needs that meet your pet today, and as they grow. Forget child proofing your home, it’s about animal proofing your home.

I for one am 100% onboard with barkitecture, and I think that this new design choice on the scene will feature heavily throughout homes in the next few years to come. Our furry friends make the family, so why not concrete that with letting them live in the land of luxury too? OK. So, they probably already do, but I bet they secretly want their own luxury room? Proof is already in the pudding at Pinterest, where they have announced searches are already up +115% on luxury dog room.

Luxury Dog Room Design Ideas

You’re probably thinking, ok, but what more can I do than just plonk a cosy dog bed in a room for our furry one? You’re in the right place, grab a cup of tea and your dog to peruse these luxury dog room design ideas!

Luxury Dog Bed

Since getting a puppy, I’ve realised that he eats like a king, is better looked after than me, is groomed more and pretty much does what he wants, sleeps where he wants, and on his own terms. I’m not even mad about it. I know how much a furry friend can bring to your life, and I can’t pop to the shops without picking him up something. Can’t. When it comes to dog beds, who doesn’t want extreme luxury for their dog to have the sweetest slumbers?

Our dogs are an extension of us, and our values, so shopping for the right dog bed has to align with those. This exquisite dog bed from ACH Collection as shown below is sustainable, made from eco-friendly level and is travel friendly. So those staycations with your favourite furrriend can keep the same home comforts with this dog bed. Only the best for our little ones, huh?

Luxury Dog Room Under The Stairs

I LIVE for these under the stairs transformations. A luxury dog room can be whatever your imagination creates and it doesn’t literally need to be an actual room. This under the stairs space is an actual dream, they have created it like an actual house, with a mailbox, wall light, even a wreath!! It’s extra AF and just so cute, when it comes to our furry friends, more is more!

Dog Beds Made From Furniture

Because all dogs deserve their own mini living room! I can’t get over how cute this is, and how this genuinely is like a living room. Dog beds made from furniture is a luxurious step up from a basic dog bed and I think these babies look extremely happy with their dog sized sofa. Not gonna lie, it looks more comfy than my Made sofa lol.

At Home Dog Grooming Parlour

As lockdowns became a staple in 2020, many pet owners switched to home grooming to stop their pets looking like a mop cloth, smart. But guys, how is it possible without your own at home dog grooming parlour, huh? This looks like a utility room come dog grooming parlour and I couldn’t be more HERE for it. Complete with a feeding area, wash down area and storage for all the x 100 dog toys and more. All finished in luxe worthy colours to match their interior decor. I’m a little bit in love with this setup.

Luxury Dog House

Seriously, when can I move in? This is a perfect example of a luxury dog house, within a house. If you have the space, this idea is seriously cute and will be warmly welcomed by your dog. I love that they have their own dog sized space to take themselves off to when they want some peace. No detail has been missed off this, a roof, greenery, a feeding section and dog bed. LOVE.

Convert A Spare Room Into A Dog Room

If all else fails and you have an actual spare room that can be accommodated by a pet, make like this dog owner who transformed their room in a luxury dog room. It has been tastefully decorated as any furry friend would probably wish it to be, an actual double bed, with a sign and cafe curtains. Is this not the cutest?
