With life being as ‘normal’ as it can be right now, something that I have been doing since March is supporting the amazing local businesses that we have in Plymouth.
From brownie boxes to my weekly Saturday ritual at The Hutong Cafe, it’s not exactly been a hardship…
A campaign that I have been fully backing is the Shop4Plymouth campaign which is all about getting people back into Plymouth, shopping safely again. It’s been truly amazing to see how many people have been supporting our local businesses and how many new places I’ve been able to discover since the campaign launched.
I had the pleasure of visiting 10 of my favourite fashion and beauty retailers in Plymouth that I got to share with you all on my Instagram stories. Don’t worry if you missed it, just head to my shop4plymouth story highlight on my feed.
All the designer shopping you could want and need without having to step onto a train to London right now. I always love having a little window shop in here, one day, huh?
2. Drake Circus – Primark
It wouldn’t be a little shopping mooch without hitting up Primark in Drake Circus. It’s the same old story, you go in for one thing and come out with 10. the COVID procedures are spot on in Primark, I went in straight after Primark had reopened and I felt really safe. Hand sanitiser on the way in, sanitised baskets and social distancing throughout the store.
I picked up the cutessssst fluffy co-ord on my last trip to Primark, I’m not wearing anything else until at least 2021.
3. Yoke Salon
Love, love Yoke Salon. I’ve had blow dries, a full 10 inches off my hair and countless haircuts since Yoke arrived in the Royal William Yard.
Whilst things definitely aren’t normal, being able to get your haircut and feel pampered again is just the nicest thing.
Yoke Salon regularly run yoga classes too, so keep an eye out for these on their Instagram page.
4. Charity Shops
The charity shopping scene in Plymouth is one of my favourites. You never know when you’re going to find an absolute gem in one. I love them for finding new book reads too.
5. Identity Fashion
Based in the Royal William Yard, Identity Fashion is such a bougie little boutique. Catwalk ready clothing with plenty of accessories to boot. I love a little browse in here followed by a hot chocolate in Seco Lounge which is next door!
6. Brow Envy
An oldie photo but a goodie. This was the first time I had LVL lashes done at Brow Envy and I could just not believe the difference it made to my peepers <3
My absolute go to for HD brows and lashes, my god the 5 months we all had to wait to get them done again was sooooo worth it.
I love this little treasure trove on the cobbled streets of the Barbican. So many gorgeous clothing pieces, jewellery and present ideas. Next time you’re heading to the Barbican for a hot choccie or a pastry from Jacka Bakery (my fave) don’t forget to pop in!
8. Enhance Aesthetics & Wellness
Enhance only opened in Royal William Yard earlier this year, and it’s immediately become my favourite. Champagne on arrival, a flower wall and a pink letter box? Yes please.
It’s such a relaxing place to head to for a treatment, I had the best shellac manicure here and I can’t wait to head back soon.
9. Blame Lily
From the sassiest face masks to furry gilets, Blame Lily boutique based in the Broadway, Plymstock is amazing for finding that piece of clothing that’s just a bit different to the high street.
10. Nicola Hurst Jewellery
Nicola Hurst is the place to head to for bespoke and beautiful handmade jewellery. Perfect ideas with Christmas approaching, just look at that packaging!
I’ve not even touched the surface with the amazing independents on offer in Plymouth. Don’t forget to check out Shop4Plymouth on Instagram for plenty more inspiration.
