I had good intentions to write at least once a week this month, but it’s now the 28th October and I haven’t even done two. lol.
Undeniably nothing has been the same for me since the beginning of the summer. I frequently have to sing the song lyrics of Ronan Keating ‘life is a rollercoaster, you just got to ride it’ to get me through.
And I’ve never felt like a rollercoaster so much in my life and oh yes, I am in fact on the single rider queue for this one.
Whilst it has been a hectic few months, it has also shown me that no matter what cards life throws at me that I’m able to calmly accept what is happening and deal with the situation in the best way I can.
Most of the time.
I won’t bore you with the laundry, so here’s a few exciting things that I’ve been up to lately.
There has been SO much going on in Plymouth the last few months, everything literally has been coming along like buses. Nothing for ages and then everything arrives at once. It really has been a juggling act trying to fit everything in. So, let’s start at the beginning.
Turtle Bay Summer Sound Clash Festival
You might remember my last post about the lovely evening I had at Turtle Bay back in June. I was Kindly invited back by the lovely team at Turtle Bay to sample their new menu during the Summer Sound Clash Celebrations.
It kicked off my birthday celebrations perfectly! There was a live reggae band playing, and some AMAZING Caribbean inspired food as always which you can see for yourself below.
I always love visiting Turtle Bay as they have the best atmosphere, drinks (homemade ginger beer is my OG) and food. It’s a lovely place to head to for cocktails before going out out too!
The Barcode, Drake Circus Plymouth
After years of anticipation, the new leisure complex The Barcode opened in Plymouth last week and it’s honestly the best thing that has happened in Plymouth in a looonggg time.
I was invited down to the opening of the Cosy Club for an evening of tapas and drinks which was amazing. It’s part of the loungers group and I pretty much spend 75% of my salary in Seco Lounge already anyway.
The atmosphere, staff, interiors and food was second to none and I can’t wait to pop back soon for a stack of pancakes.
The 12 screen Cineworld also opened its doors and YES it does even come complete with a Starbucks, mind blown.
I got to try out the brand new 4DX screen, and whilst I’m not sure where I stand with getting punched in the back during a fighting scene, all of the motions did everything but enhance the film. There’s water, movement, punching, tickling, but you may want to sit this one out if you get travel sick.
All in all, I loved it! Cannot wait to watch James Bond in this screen next year!
A few days later Paradise Island Adventure Golf also opened which has 18 courses of crazy golf, it’s mad to think we have something like this now and I got to swing by and play one of the courses last Friday (they have 2 courses).
It was literally drowning in Plymouth with the rain last Friday and it’s the perfect place for those rainy weekends where there’s nothing other to do than sit in with Netflix on.
I’m already going back tomorrow…
Bentley 100 Year Anniversary
Well, this was certainly a weekend to remember.
I attended the Bentley 100 year anniversary back at the start of September at the beautiful Blenheim palace which was uhhh-mazing.
I’m planning on writing up a full post on this, but I went on my first business trip by MYSELF! I had to travel solo and I cannot tell you how much I learnt on that 3 day trip both professionally and personally.
Cologne is also such a beautiful place, I would 100% recommend for a weekend city break. Plus, they have a chocolate museum where you get free chocolate, so there’s that.
Well, you’ll be glad to hear that that’s it for now!
I double dare ya to top the dramas of my last few months lol.
