I was recently asked to be part of Dorothy Perkins #DPDressesTheNation campaign which leads them on a quest to discover the nations favourite dresses, with the help of fashion bloggers across the UK, and by showcasing their cities must have dress!
Needless to say I jumped at the chance of representing my home town Plymouth! My cities must wear dress is a cami dress, I honestly think this style of dress is perfect for day to night wear and the floaty nature of cami dresses mean they aren’t restrictive in any way, and would suit every body shape.
I didn’t even need to think what location I would shoot my pictures in as when I think of Plymouth I instantly think of being by the sea. This little beach is in a place called the Hoe which is where I spend a lot of my time in the summer, basking in the rays and eating plenty of ice creams with my friends!

I absolutely love this little cami dress, it’s not the normal style of dress that I would wear but I think that it’s such a lovely floaty style for the sun and beachy holidays, which makes it clear as to why it’s a must wear dress in Plymouth.
Teamed with a denim jacket or waterfall coat and sandals for the day, it can be quickly glammed up in the evening with heels and some chunky jeweley. These DP heels are absolutely gorgeous too, I love the block pastel colours on the straps and the toned down pinks look perfect against the bright florals on the dress. I think this location was perfect for the DP campaign, Plymouth is such a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year though and even after living here for 22 years (minus my university years) I could never call anywhere else home. I would always miss being so close to the sea and also being a short drive from Dartmoor. This city really does have so much to offer with new restaurants, cafes and bars popping up all the time.
I promise I’m not biased in anyway, it really is a beautiful place to live and to represent my home town in this campaign was a fantastic opportunity to showcase my city and DP cami dress in my favourite location! If you want to see how dresses were styled in your home town or closest city you can find it on the #DPDressesTheNation interactive map.
It doesnt stop there, Dorothy Perkins want to get everyone involved with this campaign and are giving you the chance to win yourself a years supply of Dorothy Perkins dresses (Yes please!) by taking a picture of yourself in your favourite DP dress and by tagging @official_dorothyperkins on Instagram and by hashtagging #DPDressesTheNation it’s as easy as that! Best of luck, and be sure to let me know if you enter!
What do you think of the #DPDressesTheNation campaign? Do you like this style of dress? Will you be entering this competition?
