When I started blogging almost 2 years ago I never could have imagined that there were so many other bloggers that also lived in Plymouth and it seems that the numbers keep growing. It was about time we all got to meet up with each other, and I have LittleEllieMae to thank for organising the event and bringing the bloggers of Plymouth together! The blogger meet was held at one of my favourite cafes in Plymouth called Rumpus Cosy, it’s the type of place where none of the saucers and cutlery matches and where they go the extra mile with the presentation of their delicious drinks and cakes, all proceeds also go to charity and I couldn’t think of a better way to donate money by eating lots of yummy cake and drinking tea! Anyway, about 13 lovely bloggers all came for the meet up and we all had the loveliest afternoon…
The interior of Rumpus cosy is really quirky and it’s such a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of your branded coffee shops.
It was then down to serious business…Choosing what tea to have was the most difficult decision of the day.
I just love how nothing matches in Rumpus Cosy, I loved seeing all the different tea pots and cups being brought out, it’s definitely made me want to go around all the charity shops in town and collect my own stash of mismatched kitchenware!
Tea + Cake = perfection
This is the BEST carrot cake I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot!)! If you live in Plymouth you need to go down and try it out for yourself, the flowers were even edible!
I went for traditional breakfast tea, can you believe I’ve only recently started drinking tea, and I kinda love it!
As if the tea, cake and bloggers was not enough, Ellie also put together some lovely goody bags for us with bits and pieces from some lovely brands.
After eating our yummy cakes and peeping inside our goody bags we all had some quality time to get to know each other a bit better and just have a general chat about life in Plymouth and our blogs. I do have quite an obsession with cafes, as you’ll know if you follow me on Instagram (NicoleLsage), so doing the same thing with a group of bloggers for the afternoon was just lovely, and everyone was so nice! I know it can always seem a bit daunting meeting up with other bloggers for the first time but there is never anything to worry about as you’ll always end up getting on like a house on fire and you already all have a common interest to chat about which is blogging, of course!
The 2 hours literally flew by and I wish we could do it all over again, it’s true what they say that time really does fly when you’re having fun!
A peep inside the lovely goody bags!
I absolutely loved the contents of the goody bags! Some brands I’m very familiar with including Nanshy brushes which are just fab and Halo Wipes that are super handy for travelling, and I will be packing for my travels this year. I can’t wait to test out the other lovely brands that donated some products though, expect some reviews in the future.
A lovely group shot of all the bloggers that went to the meet up! Thanks again to Ellie who organised the event with the help of Becca and for all the other lovely bloggers that I got to meet! I can’t wait to do something similar in the summer with them all, I don’t think I speak for myself when I say a Bloggers cafe crawl would be a brilliant idea.. Our local newspaper called The Herald also came down for the afternoon to take some pictures from the event and featured us in an article too.
Another big thank you to Rumpus Cosy who were such fabulous hosts of the event, I can’t wait to pop back again soon for a hot chocolate and some cake!
Do you like local blogger meet ups? Do you like cute cafes like Rumpus Cosy? Have you been to Rumpus Cosy before?
