Not only was it my Birthday last Friday, I also had the pleasure of spending a day shopping in Princesshay shopping centre in Exeter, armed with the brand new Princesshay Gift Card! It's perfect timing that it's here in time for Christmas and for everyone in the local area it solves that gifting conundrum for the person that 'has everything', but it offers you something a bit more special than an envelope with a scrumpled up £10 note inside! The Princesshay Gift Card works exactly like a debit card does, with denominations available from £5 through to £500, so it can be tailored exactly to your present needs. Did I mention that it can also be used in over 70 shops and restaurants within Princesshay? With so much choice and £100 burning a hole in my pocket, it was time to get down and see what there was to discover!
The gift card is available to buy online so it's perfect for those last minute presents from the comfort of your own home, but it can also be picked up from the customer service kiosk on Bampfylde Lane between Superdry and Chandos Deli. It's really well advertised so you can't miss it!
How cute is this little guy that was in the customer service kiosk? You may have seen a bunch of Rhinos popping up over Exeter that are part of The Great Big Rhinos Project, encouraging everyone to get out and explore the streets, parks and open spaces of the English Riviera and Exeter.
The Gift Of Choice wallets are available in multiple designs, including an exclusive 'Great Big Rhino' design. I love this cupcake design, it's perfect for Birthday's and the 'foodie' in all of us! It's handy to know that all gift cards are registered to the purchaser so in the unfortunate event that the card is lost or stolen, the balance can still be retrieved by the purchaser.
We arrived just after 10:30am and I was tired because I'd spent most of my nights sleep awake with excitement for my Birthday, yes I am 24. So the first stop of the day was Carluccio's, as I said previously the gift card can be used in most of the Princesshay restaurants, but it's worth asking before ordering that it can definitely be used there, as Costa was one that didn't accept it, it saved me a bit of embarrassment before the drinks had been made!
Carluccio's is perfect for Breakfast, yummy pastries and warming drinks. It's more tucked away than some of the other restaurants and cafes in Princesshay. We had hot chocolates and a pain au chocolate, I'd already had breakfast, but it was my Birthday and I fancied a little treat!
After refueling we headed off to the shops for a morning, and a long afternoon of shopping!
The first stop was Mac for a bit of pampering, I'm such a mac lipstick snob and never wear anything else on my lips, and if I do it really doesn't compare! I usually end up buying them at Duty Free as they seem to go up in price every year, so it was a lovely treat to be able to buy a new autumnal lipstick, I picked up the shade Whirl which is such a gorgeous nudey/brown shade.
Next stop was Tiger where I could probably spend an hour looking around. I love how they get new ranges each month, October is cactus month which is AKA my favourite month, so I stocked up on a cactus shopper bag (still refusing to pay 5p for a plastic bag), a cactus mason jar and some super cute Halloween themed napkins, just because!
After a morning of shopping, we headed off for an afternoon tea at Bills that we had already planned for my Birthday. But there's plenty of other places that you can have some lunch around Princesshay, Jamie's Italian and Byron Burger are a couple of my favourites! I'd spent a fair bit of my gift card during the morning, but I wasn't sure exactly how much, the best thing about this gift card is that you can easily check your balance online at Get My Balance, there's no need to be rummaging around your house for gift receipts anymore! All you need to do is enter the gift card number and security number on the main screen and it will display your real time account balance. After making sure I definitely had enough for some more purchases, we headed off for some more shopping, heaven!
After some indulging, pampering and homeware shopping it was time to treat myself to some new clothes with the gift card. I wanted to get some more pictures for my review, but I had 2 rather disgruntled shop assistants tell me off for taking pictures of the stock!! I don't understand this, as half the stuff ends up across Instagram and social media anyway, so I couldn't be bothered to battle with rude staff after that. After I'd composed myself, I picked up some lovely autumnal bits from Zara, River Island and Topshop, I featured the whole outfit that I picked up in my Winter Knits outfit post on Monday if you want to have a peek!
It was fair to say that I had a very successful day of shopping in Princesshay, I was definitely shopped out! It's so nice to come up to Exeter every now and then as the offering of shops is 100% better than Plymouth, we don't even have a ZARA!! The gift card allowed me to use it on a variety of different purchases from food and pampering to clothing, this is what makes this such a versatile gift for all ages. Whether it's for someone leaving home for uni for the first time, a wedding present or for the person who 'has everything'. The gift card also doesn't have to be used all in one go, they have an expiration date of 12 months from the date of purchase so you can spread out the treats across the year! It's also a fab idea for secret santa presents that don't require much thought, but will definitely please everyone!
If you want to see more from my day out in Princesshay with the gift card, make sure you check out my very FIRST ever youtube video, how exciting! They'll be lots more vlogs coming your way very soon, so do let me know what you think!
Have you been to Princesshay, Exeter before? What would you spend your gift card on?
*The Princesshay gift card was gifted to me for review. However, all opinions in this post are 100% my own.
