Lush Oxford Street haul!

Lush-Oxford-Street
After the grand opening of Lush Oxford Street had hit every social media platform out there, and the news and pictures of the over 200 + exclusive lush products circulated the net I booked a trip to London that evening, and it was the best thing I ever did. The shop situated in the heart of Oxford Street did nothing but exceed my expectations, 3 floors of bath bombs, shower gels, makeup, perfumes, skin care and a spa contained within the basement floor, what's not to love? I went with the intention of buying a lot of the exclusive products and may have left having spent a small fortune but I was honestly more excited about visiting it than I had ever been about a shop before, you'll agree with me if you're also a Lush lover, it's simply heaven on earth compared to my local box sized Lush shop! I would say that no bath bombs were hurt during the process of this, but unfortunately the windmill bubble bar did not make it home in one piece. It was a distressing time but the remains have since been destroyed in a warm bath with myself and everything has since been forgotten, unfortunately I can't share a picture with you but I'm sure you can imagine how insane a bubble bar based around a wooden stick for a windmill looks! Without further ado I bring you Lush Oxford Street...

The light up signs in the shop are another quirky touch, it's essential to have this kind of reassurance when exclusive lush products can send you into a crazy frenzy!

The massive sinks are  a much better way to demonstrate the bath bombs than the current jugs they use in local shops, lush bath bombs really do create the prettiest pictures/art work. Search #Lushtime on Instagram to see more pretty pictures like this!
Lush-Oxford-Street
It was evident that there was going to be a lot of hauling, if you're familiar with my Instagram I am way too obsessed with bubble bars and bath bombs and I took advantage of the exclusive lush products knowing that my local store will probably never stock them. It was a good job James was on hand to carry the basket around as it was SO heavy!

Introducing the exclusive Lush Oxford street products, drum roll please....

Refresher shower jelly
After receiving the Lush Pot O' Gold shower jelly for Easter, I have fallen head over heels in love with them. They are so easy to use and never seem to shrink in size after each use. I picked up the refresher shower jelly which I believe is an exclusive to the store as are the rest of the bits I picked up. It smells so citrussy and fresh, making it perfect for the summer, it smells so good I could almost eat it. They store them in giant fridges in the shop which I thought was cool, there's nothing worse than purchasing a warm, slightly congealed product.
Lush-The-Experimenter

The Experimenter Bath Bomb
Possibly my favourite bath bomb from the haul. This rainbow coloured bath bomb really does not disappoint when it hits the bath water, as you can see I've already used this one and even though it starts fizzing immediately the last little bit takes a while to fizzle out and the colours just keep changing, it smelt slightly similar to fizzy parma violet sweets and my only regret is not buying more of these!
Lush-Oxford-Street
Karma Bubble Bar
I love the colours running through this volcano esque bubble bar and can only imagine it will create a gorgeous smelling and looking bath! I love how this one will probably last for at last 3 baths.

Lava Lamp Bath Bomb
This one was a last minute impulse buy, the tangerine/orangey smell was love at first sniff. I will say this about every one of these but I am seriously excited for a bath with this one, who knew such a small thing could bring so much joy!
Lush-Oxford-Street
Pink Flamingo Bubble Bar
As soon as I saw the flamingo bubble bar on some bloggers Instagrams at the launch day I knew it was the first on my list to buy. I mean who doesn't love a cute, pink flamingo?

Lush-Oxford-Street
Cyanide Pill Bath Bomb
I had to pick this one up just for the looks factor alone, why else would you not want to pick up a bath bomb that looks like a giant pill?! It really is genius, if only every pill could be this enjoyable and we would be on to a winner.
Lush-Oxford-Street

Melting Marshmallow Moment Bath Oil
These bath oil melts are another new addition to the products lush offer and they had a big selection of them as you can see above. They dissolve in the bath a bit like a bath bomb would but without the fizz, the oil makes it a really moisturising and relaxing bath, it's perfect for people who suffer from maybe dry or sensitive skin and can't use bath bombs. I picked up this one as it smelt similar to marshmallows, I also brought home a vanilla smelling one for my mum with a real vanilla pod in and a lavender one for my sister (I did also have a list with me to buy for other people!).
Lush-Oxford-Street
Milky Bath Bubble Bar
The main reason I choose bath bombs is on the looks factor alone, as the smell really doesn't bother me, obviously it's an added bonus if the scent is divine but this bubble bar really does tick all the boxes. Its cute glittery shape of a milk bottle is sweet enough but I can already tell it will be a really moisturising and creamy bath to soak in.
Lush-Oxford-Street
Flowering Tea bubble bar
I had to end it with another absolute favourite of mine, the innovative BATH DUNK! Yes, it really is a cross between the nations favourite drink (tea) and has been incorporated into a bubble bar. Simply dunk in the bath and remove when you're happy with how bubbly and strong the colour of the bath is! I just cannot get enough of the new exclusive products, it also smells like a bunch of flowers would. It is super bubbly once dunked in the water and I think it might even last for more than 3 baths, I just think the whole idea of this is just genius!
Lush-Oxford-Street
So there we have it, a look inside my new favourite shop in the world and at some of the new exclusive products! I honestly would have bought the whole shop and brought it home in a suitcase if I had the space and strength to lift it. I already cannot wait to make another trip back and to use the rest of the stuff I picked up, it's fair to say I am stocked up for a while! A few of the exclusive products are available to buy on the Lush website but I couldn't find any of the products from my haul, so in the meantime I would strongly recommend anyone who is a lover of lush to take a trip down there, you will not be disappointed!
Lush-Oxford-Street
I thought I would leave you with one of my favourite signs from the shop - 'Relax take a bath', very relevant and applicable to every day life, I know what I'm off to do now...

Have you been to Lush Oxford Street? Do you like the look of the exclusive products? What Lush products are your favourite?

Spring beauty with HQHair

There really is nothing better than Spring, it means that we have left behind the cold winter and we can finally see summer on the horizon, yippee. As well as the beautiful blossom, balmy evenings (still waiting for this..) and pretty wisteria I love the new beauty products that come onto the market and that the brighter and bolder makeup colours and sun kissed skin comes out to play! HQHair have 100% satisfied my beauty needs this spring and sent me a fab bundle of products to get me ready for spring. They have everything covered from my hair, right down to my toes! You'll be spring ready in no time at all with these products to help you on your way...
I absolutely love trying out new haircare ranges on my long hair and as I'm sure most girls can relate to,dry and tangly hair is a common problem. It tends to dry out a lot from the winter weather and from constant abuse from the chlorine in the pool so any type of conditioning treatment is warmly welcomed by my hair. This is a Paul Mitchell conditioning set that comes in the nicest packaging! They are salon size products so you definitely get what you pay for with these, as they are typically seen in salons too you know they are going to be a good set of products.
I have been using the shampoo and conditioner together for the majority of my washes over the past 3 weeks and I love how it has made my hair feel. The conditioner is super conditioning and I have been leaving it on my ends for a few minutes before washing it off. The detangling agent in it also provides UV protection which will make it an instant addition to my wash bag for holiday as I always wonder how best to protect your hair from the sun, as although the blonde highlights are nice it's incredibly damaging for your hair. I'm still working on finding a cream to protect my scalp though as it always burns, any recommendations? The sculpting foam isn't something I use in my every day routine, but if you have curly hair, or want to create beachy waves for the summer then this is your answer. If you're curling your hair with a wand you can apply the foam beforehand as it really helps to hold your curl for longer, long hair is a nightmare as it never stays curly for long as it just drops out, so sculpting foam will be the way forward for me if I want to achieve lovely curls. As it is also conditioning it helps to add the moisture back in, I would also recommend using a heat defense spray too! I think this is a great little set for spring/summer as it's when your hair really does need the most conditioning, all that sun, sea and chlorine really does take its toll in the end.
When it comes to lipsticks I'm not that adventurous and generally stick to nudes, but in the summer I do like to add a pop of colour to my lips to complement my tan (if I have one..). The new Bourjois Aqua Laque lipsticks are applied like a lip gloss and the formula is super shiny and glossy and gives your lips hydration for up to 10 hours!
It is soo easy to apply and is just like any other lip gloss really, it gives a much thicker coverage than a standard lip gloss though which is why it's also a bit like a lipstick. They come in 8 gorgeous shades, all perfect for spring and summer! I have spotted a nude/pinkish Aqua Laque called rose on the rocks that I am definitely going to have to purchase..
Nars is such a beautiful brand with amazing quality, my first experience with Nars was using my friends bronzer at camp in the US where I had brought very little makeup with me. I always remember how amazing it had been and how beautifully sun kissed my skin looked after many weeks of abusing my skin in the sun. Since then Nars has become massively popular with bloggers as has the well known Nars Laguna bronzer. I jumped with joy when HQHair sent over the Tahiti Bronzer Laguna to try out!
This bronzer can be used for your face and body and it also comes with a mirror and the cutest brush, making it perfect for on the go touch ups and for travelling.
As you can see the bronzer is very fair, light coloured brown but it has a great pay off of colour. It has been fantastic for contouring my cheeks and the colour will suit all skin types as it's not too dark, there is nothing worse than bronzers that give you a dirty look. I use it on my cheek bones, around my hair line, down the sides of my nose and jaw line for that chiseled look. It has become my favourite bronzer and will be using it all the way through spring and summer!
I love this little eye duo from Pixi by Petra as you can intensify and brighten your eyes at the same time, giving you a much more dramatic eye look! As if it's not good enough it's also waterproof so will be perfect for the beach, swimming in the sea and shedding tears over how fantastic the summer has been (heres to hoping!).
The pencils have a really good colour pay off and are super easy to apply, just like you would with any other eye pencil. The colour lasts all day and I didn't even notice any of those annoying smudges you get at the corners of your eyes. I have been using this by applying the black liner to trace the above lashline and the bottom line and then highlighting the inner and outer corners with the lighter shade. As with any highlighter product they always help to brighten up the specific area and won't be far from this product this spring.
It's no secret that I am obsessed with nail varnishes, and will often end up buying another one or two when I'm passing boots or superdrug. Pixi have some great nail varnishes in their range and this colour could not be more suited for spring. The varnish super shiny and on the nail wheel the colour was with only one coat! When I wore it on my nails I used two as my nails are always partial to a chip, I was so impressed as they lasted almost a week without chipping. As the colour is so eye catching I got lots of compliments on my nails, so thanks Pixi!
This leads us on to the final area of beauty to get us ready for spring, the tan! When I have fake tanned in the past I've always wondered, do I use it on my face too? With makeup usually making your face look more darker anyway I have usually skipped it. But if you want those days when your skin looks more natural without makeup then you do need to invest in a tanning serum specifically for your face. I've never come across Madame La La before, they are a brand which specialise in self tanning products, I absolutely love the packaging of it and this facial bronzing serum aims to deliver sun kissed skin which contains vitamin c and coco water and green tea to help hydrate your skin.
The instructions for self tan are pretty self explanatory but it's great that the bottle provides you with a quick guide on how to achieve the best look.
The tan comes out of the bottle really easily, as demonstrated above. I must admit I was quite startled at how dark the tan came out of the bottle as my skin is quite fair during the winter.  I decided to test it on my hand first as I didn't want to end up looking ridiculous for work the next day. It is also a very liquidy formula, for some reason I was expecting it to be foam. As it is liquid you really need to ensure that you have covered your face evenly with it, I would also strongly recommend using a mitt or gloves as it does stain your hands. The product itself does not have much of a smell to it which is a bonus with any fake tan product, unfortunately it is just far too dark for my skin at the moment but if I do a dark fake tan on my body for a night out, the facial serum will be a brilliant match for it. I will also use it once I have a natural tan from my holidays in the summer to help the tan stay for longer! Well, life really does seem better with a tan in my opinion anyway, roll on the summer sun so I can start using this properly!
Woah..there was a lot of amazing products right?! HQHair have some amazing beauty products, fragrances, skincare, basically everything a girl could ever need and want! I would definitely recommend having a browse on there as you're bound to find something you like. As for the products I tried out I really did like everything, however the stand out for me was definitely the Nars bronzer as it has got to be the best bronzer I have ever used for contouring, I fear that this may have started a new found addiction for Nars, luckily HQHair stock lots of other Nars products so you may see a haul very soon...

What do you think of these products? What would you like to try? Have you bought anything from HQhair before?

Cleansing with the Foreo Luna Mini | Review

Foreo-Luna-Mini
The whole skincare regime, double cleansing and hot muslin cloths still does phase me, I only learnt the true importance of a proper skin care routine once I had acne which was duly caused by not cleaning and looking after my skin properly. I think I've come a long way since back then, but I still do suffer from regular break outs and live in fear that my acne will one day return, so I'm constantly looking for more ways to improve my skin. I have heard a lot about facial cleansers from other bloggers so when Look Fantastic sent me the Magenta Foreo Luna Mini* RRP £99 (exclusive to Lookfantastic) to try out I couldn't let my skin miss out on this fabulous looking device. They also come in 4 other gorgeous colours, the pastel blue and pink Luna Minis are to die for!
Foreo-Luna-Mini
So what exactly is the Foreo Luna Mini and how is it different to other facial cleansers? The Foreo Luna Mini is a smaller version of the original, and it is a T sonic facial cleansing and and ageing device which promises a mini facial with every use. It aims to cleanse much more efficiently than by hand, remove 99.5% of dirt, oil and makeup residue, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help to achieve smoother looking and more radiant skin. The reason that this is different to others on the market is that NO replacement brushes are needed, it's ultra hygienic and it is waterproof, it only needs to be charged once every 7 months and because it's mini you can have a facial wherever you travel to! It all sounds pretty amazing right?!
Foreo-Luna-Mini
The anti ageing surface
Foreo-Luna-Mini
Step by step cleansing instructions, if  you're anything like me you'll always pick the simpler version with pictures. But there is a full sized instruction booklet included too if you want to learn the ins and outs of the device.
Foreo-Luna-Mini
How do you use the Foreo Luna Mini? The Luna Mini is incredibly easy to use, once you've charged it up you don't need to worry about it for another 7 months, I actually charged it by the USB port on my laptop! You simply press the middle power button on the device and away you go, it's that easy. The little instruction booklet is incredibly helpful as it outlines how many seconds you should be cleansing each area, the pulses then take a quick pause every 15 seconds as an indicator of when to move onto the next area so you don't over cleanse a specific part of your face. It pauses 3 times when you've reached one minute of cleansing your entire face, it's truly ground breaking stuff! As I mentioned before there are two sides to the device, but the cleaning brush surface is the most technical if you like..The silicone brushes don't collect dirt like normal bristles so its super easy to clean. The device can be used for all skin types too, the top bristles are for those with more sensitive skin whilst the smaller/finer looking ones are perfect for use on oily/combination skin. After cleansing your skin you simply wash your face with water and pat dry.
Foreo-Luna-Mini
So what is the Foreo Luna Mini actually like? I am always 100% honest in my posts regardless of whether something has been gifted to me or not, as you'll know from the Click N Curl review.. But I cannot imagine my life without my Luna Mini now, it has truly changed my skin care regime. Before I began using it I was dubious, as I know from other devices on the market that people had said they are too harsh, caused break outs and even broken capillaries. But, comparing this between another market leader I can see why it could cause that and these two devices couldn't be more different. The Foreo is so gentle and it charges up to 8,000 pulsations per minute which are very gentle, nothing harsh here. I have been taking my makeup off first with the above cleanser with a muslim cloth and hot water. I then massage another layer of cleanser on and let the Luna Mini do the rest. I haven't used the anti ageing side as I'm focusing more on getting clearer skin but have been using this twice a day in conjunction with the new cleanser Cetaphil as used by Amanda Holden, I started using it with the Luna Mini and have been so impressed by it too, it's great for those with sensitive and spot prone skin. I have been using it for almost a month now and although I haven't had ground breaking results yet in the skin department my skin is no worse and it is definitely a lot smoother. I have had a few spots pop up here and there but I always do anyway, it seems to be clearing out the rubbish in my skin first which will hopefully lead to better, more clearer skin in the future. Just by adding it into my skincare routine I feel like my skin is so much cleaner after taking my makeup off for the day and it really does feel like a mini facial in a minute. For that reason I could not stop using this device now as my face would just feel too dirty without it! However, I do feel that I need to use this for a few more months to get a more accurate picture as to how much it's helped my skin, but the first month has been fabulous and I cant bear to live life without it again.
Foreo-Luna-Mini
There really are far too many amazing benefits to this product, even more than I can write on this blog post, I think you would be reading it for a day! The battery life is a big winner for me as is the fact that as it's a mini size it can be taken away with me on holiday, this will probably be the first year that I don't use face wipes whilst I'm away, a massive improvement! As it's also waterproof it offers the ultimate convenience, no excuses for not having time to properly look after my skin anymore as I can just jump in the shower or bath with it and cleanse away! Now we just need an Iphone to be designed that only needs one charge for every 7 months, then we'll be talking...

Have you used the Foreo Luna Mini? Do you use facial cleansers? Would you like to add this into your skin care regime? Whats your favourite cleanser?
