Lookfantastic Beauty Box - December 2014

Lookfantastic-December-beauty-box
How is it December 1st already tomorrow?! The last month has flown by but that means its almost Christmas and...that the Lookfantastic December beauty box £15* is on sale tomorrow (1st December) from 9am yippee! The box has already sold out on pre-order so it's best to get in quick if you want to be the proud owner of this one. I received the November one and was blown over by the amazing brands that it contained and this box is no different. The box is jam packed with premium brands, as if that isn't enough to tempt you into purchasing one they also ship worldwide for free! There really is no catch with this box, for only £15 you get a box full of goodies worth a considerable amount more, it gives us a chance to try amazing brands that we might not necessarily be able to purchase otherwise.

Opening it is always the most exciting part....

This months box contains an impressive 7 products!! The November Lookfantastic beauty box contained 6 and I thought that was amazing for the cost and again this box contains a great selection of products too ranging from skincare, makeup, hair care and even a product that works from the inside out, they've got it all covered again in this box!

Macadamia Infused comb I have been wanting to try an oil infused comb/brush for months now and my wish has finally been granted, thank you Lookfantastic! I stopped using combs since I discovered the tangle teezer as I always found they snagged my hair but I'm definitely going to be giving this a try. The comb is infused with macadamia oil with a specially formulated resin to nourish and detangle hair. It means that it should be able to kindly detangle hair whilst infusing it with oil, I apply oil to my hair after every wash anyway but it always means your hands are left with a residue on and its often hard to distribute it properly leaving your hair often looking oily, so these are definitely the benefits of using a comb like this as it enables even distribution of the healing oil treatment. I have also tried a few other products from this brand which I have loved so I am expecting great things with this comb.

Lord & Berry Travel Size Silk Kajal Kohl Eyeliner Seriously have you ever seen a cuter eyeliner than this?! Lord & Berry is a makeup brand I've not previously tried and this eyeliner has really excited me! Lord & Berry only use the highest quality raw materials and finest hypoallergenic ingredients in their products. This mini eyeliner is the perfect size to pop in your bag for a night out for a top up or for a night away somewhere, definitely the makeup staple for all girls!

Bourjois Intense Smoky I am a massive fan of Bourjois products, they are definitely one of my favourite drug store brands. This little trio of colours is just beautiful and as always perfectly packaged. It contains 2 eye shadows and a liner, including a mini brush to apply it with. I love deep purples for winter, especially with Christmas parties and New Years coming up. Again this is perfect for taking away in a bag for a weekend. I've seen that they sell these in another couple of colours, the trios are great for creating smoky eyes as they provide the perfect colours for blending.
Lookfantastic-December-beauty-box
Pure Gold Collagen 50ml This was definitely the most intriguing product for me in the box. This little golden bottle is a liquid food supplement that improves the skins appearance from the inside out.  The special blends of hydrolysed collagen, viatmins and minerals is said to reactivate the formation of collagen to give you brighter, plumper and more youthful skin. It's a damn sight cheaper than botox too! It's intended that you drink a bottle a day of this for 4 weeks to witness visible results, a box of 10 costs £35.99 and is meant to be 20 times more powerful than a collagen pill. I'm only 22 so I don't think I will be needing this just yet (I say..) but I can definitely see the massive advantages of this product.
Lookfantastic-December-beauty-box
Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel 15ml Elemis is such a well known and reputable brand and anything face mask related is a winner in my eyes. This product contains papaya and pineapple (yum!) which contains nourishing milk protein, anti-oxidant rich vitamin E and Marine algae to moisturise, repair and protect the skin. It sounds like it will really help to achieve a more radiant look within minutes and in the winter especially as my face really needs with some brightening up.
Lookfantastic-December-beauty-box
Murad Essential-C Cleanser 45ml I'm always looking at trying new cleansers for my skin and haven't previously tried a product from Murad. It contains Vitamins A,C and E as well as various other vital ingredients which should add moisture back into the skin and rejuvenate your skin whilst promoting a healthy and beautiful complexion. The product smells so fruity too!
Lookfantastic-December-beauty-box
Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil 15ml This is an anti ageing treatment which again has a lovely fruity and citrussy scent to it. You can spritz this to your face and neck and the treatment is meant to penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin to help heal, nourish and hydrate your skin.  It claims that this should help reduce visible lines and that skin immediately appears brighter and more radiant. I'm not quite in need of anti ageing treatments just yet but necks are definitely one of the first places of visible ageing and moisturising that area even at a young age is vital and I'm really looking forward to testing this out as it smells delicious!
Lookfantastic-December-beauty-box
As if that wasn't enough they've also popped in a £10 off voucher for Coggles!
Lookfantatic-December-beauty-box
So what did you all think of the contents of the Lookfantastic December beauty box?! This box is literally a god send, I absolutely love discovering new brands each month like Murad, Ole Henriksen and Gold Collagen as well as trying out new products from brands that I absolutely love but can't always justify buying at full price. It allows me to give things a test before going ahead and purchasing the full size. At first glance my favourite products are the Bourjois trio set, the Macademia comb and the Lord & Berry eye liner just because of the cuteness! I'm not disappointed in any of the products though and Lookfantastic have yet again done another fantastic job in offering a gorgeous bundle of beauty products!

I think that this would make such  a lovely Christmas present for a friend/sister/mum/grandma AND of course as a treat for yourself! What I also love about this box is that you don't need to commit to a subscription like you do with most beauty boxes, you can buy them when and as you please at a mere £15. The boxes go on sale on 1st December at 9am, if you want to make a purchase don't delay as these do sell like hotcakes! If you miss out on this months you can sign up to receive updates about the boxes here.

Will you be purchasing this months box? What products would you like to try? What beauty boxes are your favourite?

This gift set is my first experience of Nuxe but I know how reputable and good quality the brand is meant to be.
Lookfantastic-nuxe-gift-set
The Nuxe Paris Prodigieuse gift set £30* contains three iconic products fragranced with the Huile Prodigieuse scent; Creme Prodigieuse, limited edition Huile Prodigieuse multi purpose dry oil and Huile Prodigieuse multi purpose dry oil as well as an exclusive candle called Bougie Prodigieuse which is also  fragranced with the scent. The products are described as bringing the perfect balance of performance and sensuality. The 3 products plus the candle scented with Huile Prodigieuse provide the perfect set for complete relaxation. I love the packaging of the set, the gold against the deep purple back drop beautifully encases the golden products inside and it really reminds me of nights out and New years Eve. The products in the box all retail at around £17.00 and upwards each so £30 for the whole set really is a great deal, plus another 20% off on Black Friday!
lookfantastic-nuxe-gift-set
The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse limited edition multi-purpose dry oil 50ml I am a huge fan of hair oil and use it pretty much daily. I'm really intrigued by this multi purpose hair oil which can be used for face, body and hair. The product contains 30% precious plant oils and vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften face, body and hair in a single use. A few drops can also be used in the bath which is probably one of my favourite uses of this product as the sensual smell makes it such a relaxing experience, it's even better if you use the scented candle too! I probably won't use this product on my face as I tend to stick to non perfumed products due to my sensitive skin but I will definitely be testing it out on my hair and body too.
Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Anti-fatigue moisturising cream 40ml states to protect and prevent the signs of ageing on your face. This product again is scented with Prodigieuse, this cream contains an innovative complex of anti-oxidants and active ingredients that work to relieve stressed complexions while hydrating and refreshing.  It is very moisturising on the skin without it being oily or greasy, the smell is fairly pungent but if you like the scent anyway then you will love using this. I have been applying this to my face and neck in the mornings for the the best results. I think we could all do with an anti fatigue cream especially in the winter when getting out of bed is always SO hard!
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse multi purpose dry oil - Golden Shimmer 10ml This little bottle of golden shimmer is just beautiful. I first laid eyes on this in the box because the packaging and contents of it are so eye catching. This again is a multi use oil for your hair, face and body, the only difference is that it gives a golden shimmer. It has a super-activated formula that combines 30% of precious plant oils and vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften face, body and hair in a single gesture. I will definitely be hanging on to this product for the summer as it is meant to help enhance your tan with the golden shimmer, those sunny days seems far away for now but I will definitely be applying a few drops to my body if I am using fake tan! For that perfect look of air brushed legs you can massage this product into your legs to create an enhanced firmness and a 'silk tights' effect. It sounds like the perfect party product essential and the size is prefect for slipping in a handbag.
The Nuxe Bougie Prodigieuse candle is an exclusive to a couple of their gift sets and is fragranced with the Huile Prodigieuse scent to match the other products in the set. Using the products and then lighting this candle with a hot bubble bath is the perfect way to relax.
lookfantastic-nuxe-gift-set
Overall I am so impressed with this set and my first real tester of the Nuxe brand. If you already know the brand and love the Huile Prodigieuse scent then this is the perfect treat for yourself or a giftt for someone else, priced at £30 it works out as a great deal with the individual products amounting to a lot more. Don't forget Lookfantastic have some amazing black Friday deals on today, including 20% of Nuxe products including this gorgeous gift set. You would be mad to miss out on their deals today to save yourself some money this Christmas! I know what I'm doing right now....

Will you be making use of the Black Friday deals? What do you think of the Lookfantastic deals? Do you like Nuxe products? What Christmas gift set would you love to receive this year?

Scarf* - Candid Threads
Jumper - Topshop
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Primark

The weather seems to have got a lot colder this week so it's really time to start digging out the chunky knit jumpers and scarves! Candid Threads sent me this gorgeous Kolbasti black square scarf a couple of weeks ago which I was so excited to receive, I firstly love their statement across their website which is 'every scarf tells a story'. I feel this way about all of my clothes that I own too! The reason behind it is that they source their unique and handmade wraps around the world to bring together local artisan communities and to help boost their local economy, Candid Threads really does have some brilliant ethics to their name!

As you can see the scarf was beautifully packaged, something that always shows the brand goes the extra mile with their customers. I love the extra touch of the homemade rubber bands too. The scarf itself is just beautiful to wear, it's not too long and really is the perfect length for wrapping up underneath a coat without looking too bulky. The material is so soft and warm and it goes without saying that I love the colour and pattern on it too. I felt that it went perfectly with my new cream chunky knit jumper from Topshop and I'm sure I'm going to get a lot more wear out of it!

Here comes the exciting bit... Candid Threads have kindly offered to give away a Red Kolbasti scarf like the one below to one of my lucky readers! Simply enter via the rafflecopter box below, some of the options are mandatory but there are extra entries too. The competition will run for 2 weeks and ends on the 11 December. The competition is open to the UK only and I will be checking entries, good luck!

What do you think of my outfit? Do you like this scarf? Have you heard of Candid Threads before?

Christmas Homeware Haul!

It's officially one month until Christmas eek! I am so excited now that it's almost acceptable listen to endless Christmas songs, decorate the tree and start wrapping presents! In preparation I have been buying some pretty Christmas homeware bits from various places and I really wanted to share with you all what I got! There are some really nice bits in the shops this year, my favourite shop for Christmas stuff has to be John Lewis, I don't think their prices are too unreasonable either.
Candle holder - John Lewis
John Lewis had three like this, you could either get one with a tree, heart or star attached to the holder. I loved the tree one but thought this would be suitable all year round. I'm not one for scented candles and much prefer tea lights so this jar will be perfect for my room!
Wooden decorations - John Lewis £2.50 each
I absolutely love the white colour wash of these decorations, they are really shabby chic and I just love the simplicity of them! I probably won't be hanging these on my tree but on my noticeboard or something like that!
Mug - Steamer Trading Cook Shop £4.99
I probably own a cupboard full of mugs already but I don't think I even own a Christmas one! The cookware shop was new in Southampton so I thought it was necessary to make a purchase, I can't wait to start using this one for Christmas!
Duvet - Primark £12
Primark do the best duvets for Christmas and at only £12 each its not going to break the bank! I picked this one as it's definitely acceptable to use for all of the wintry period. It also matches my blanket in the background (also primark)!
Pot - Ikea
So, pretty much all bloggers own or have seen the infamous Ikea pots that people use for makeup brushes and other various things. I have the white and pink ones but thought that I just needed a red one for the festive period!
Napkins - Ikea
A fairly boring buy but I love buying pretty napkins for Christmas, I always love setting the table nicely on Christmas day!
Tea Towel - Primark
The most adorable tea towel I have ever seen! I have developed quite an obsession with pugs this year, I can't have my own so this is the next best thing hey?!
Decorative star lights* - LED Hut
Last but not least are these adorable star battery operated lights. I seem to buy more and more each year as they just look so pretty. The battery operated ones for me are the best as it means that they can be transported around the house and used anywhere. This string of lights is 1.9m so they stretch pretty far, they are also on a wired string so they could be wrapped around a jar, vase or anything for that matter. They look perfect as a backdrop for blog photos too!

So that's my first Christmas homeware haul! If you can't get enough of Christmas like me then I have a few other Christmas related blog posts that you might like to read including; Christmas Wrapping DIY, decorations from The Christmas Boutique and of course my pick of my favourite Christmas Jumpers!

What do you think of my Christmas homeware haul? Whats your favourite item? When will you put your decorations up?

Graduation - Class of 2014!

I'm officially a graduate!! On Friday it was finally my turn to graduate and it was the culmination of 3 amazing years of hard work (and a lot of partying)!! I am so thankful for the whole experience, I have met some amazing people along the way both in Southampton and Finland and it's sad to think that this is the end of an era but it's also time for the next chapter in my life. I honestly couldn't be more proud of myself, many of you probably don't know but I was really poorly during my final year and there was a few moments when I didn't think it would be possible to finish. But here I am, I persevered and it was without a day one of the best days of my life!
My ceremony wasn't until 2:30pm but there was lots to do before then. I headed to the Benefit counter in Boots first and had my makeup done in the morning which I absolutely loved and it lasted all day! The downside was that it was raining all morning so getting more pictures beforehand was out of the question, luckily it cleared up by the afternoon, god definitely answered my prayers, thankful that I wasn't wearing fake tan either!
I didn't manage to get any pictures with all of my family together as we had SO much to carry because of the rain. We had a group photo beforehand though which I really can't wait to see!

Before the ceremony I caught up with one of my best friends from uni, we met whilst studying in Finland and I don't think I would have survived the year without her! It's sad that I don't know when I will see my friends next but it's a good reason for touring the country by car!
The ceremony lasted 2 hours and it would be a lie if I didn't say I was bored by the end! I was so nervous but I was literally on the stage for 5 seconds and it was so nice to see everyone else up there too. Cue take one of throwing hats...
 Take two...
I think take 3 kinda worked?! Had to do the obligatory throwing the hat photo! Once the ceremony was over we lost half of our course friends so we had our own mini procession.
So that was the end of the most amazing day that I could have wished for. Everything was so perfect and it was amazing to see all of my friends again. I was more than happy to take my robes, hat and heels off after wearing them all day. My shoulders genuinely have burns on them from continuously having to pull my robes back up, ouch!
After the ceremony we headed into a marquee for drinks and biscuits! This made me much happier than it should have done, shortbread biscuits with the Southampton Solent sign on what could be better?!

I hope you enjoyed having a peek into my graduation! Also apologies for the lack of posts this week sometimes life gets so hectic that it has to be put on hold but I'm full steam ahead again from this week, so look out for some more beauty posts this week! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
